To deliver a high standard of learning ,development and care for children aged 0-5 years. To ensure the nursery is a safe environment for children. To be responsible for any reasonable tasks delegated by the Assistant Manager/Nursery Manager To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship.

Duration: 1 Year 6 Months

Expected start date: 16/11/2025

Hours per week: 45 hours

Job role includes

  • To contribute to a programme of activities that meets the individual needs and interests of children in your area
  • To ensure that the nursery meets the requirements of Ofsted at all times
  • Engage in good team working
  • Liaise with and support parents and other family members
  • To understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
  • To Help plan activities which are developmentally appropriate for individual children
  • Read understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager
  • To help ensure records are properly maintained e.g. daily register, accident and incident records and risk assessments
  • To assist staff in delivering an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation that enables children to make individual

First Steps Nursery caters for children aged 0-5 years 52 weeks of the year. We offer child care in three rooms, our sunshine room is for children aged 0-2, our rainbow room is for children aged 2-3 and our bright stars preschool room is for children aged 3-4 years.
