Job role includes

  • Provide a secure, caring and friendly stimulating educational environment
  • To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager
  • Ensure children’s records are kept up to date
  • Act as a positive practice role model to ensure that the nursery values are maintained
  • Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times
  • Ensure that all rooms and outside areas are clean and tidy after use
  • Liaise with parents and carers, keeping them informed of activities
  • Be sensitive and responsive to the needs of children, parents and carers as well as other members of staff
  • Work as part of a team
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents
  • Support a commitment to the theory and practice of equal opportunities
  • Feedback any issues or opportunities identified around the site that could impact the quality of care provided
  • Support the team in the upkeep of base rooms, displays, resources etc
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times and ensure confidentiality is maintained
  • Be aware of the high reputation and uphold its standards
  • Attend and participate in out-of-work activities e.g. parents' evenings, staff meetings
  • Be flexible with working practices of the setting
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management
