Trainee industrial automation panel builder, you will work under experienced professionals to learn the skills necessary for assembling and wiring automation control systems. Maintenance of machine tools, hand tools and other manufacturing related equipment. Working alone, and with other team members to carry out manufacturing tasks.

Duration: 1 Year

Job role includes

  • Controls / Electrical - Assist in the assembly and wiring of control panels based on technical drawings and specifications
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Learn to program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Help in the installation of components, including switches, relays, and circuit breakers
  • Pneumatic systems installation, such as rams and pipes and magnahelic pressure gauges
  • Participate in testing and troubleshooting of control panels
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace

Engineering Operative:

  • Following a production schedule using loading lists
  • Operate machinery to cut and form metal parts of varying thickness and length
  • Moving raw materials to the machines
  • Breaking out machined parts
  • Moving machined parts to their required location
  • Maintenance of work equipment
  • Checking and changing tools.
  • Management of scrap material
  • Pro-active maintenance of the machines
  • Lifting and carrying heavy items
  • Programming input with the CPU control unit
  • Reading engineering drawings and measuring parts against the loading lists and drawings
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as instructed:
  • To ensure that all H&S rules are always adhered to, without exception Including wearing of any PPE that is provided to you
  • Carry out all training provided to deadlines agreed
  • Execute the responsibilities of a company employee acting in a lawful and ethical manner in accordance with your contract of employment and company staff handbook
  • Work with your line manager to further your own professional development, including performance appraisal and identifying and meeting training needs to ensure competence
