We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Craftsperson Apprentice.  This role will give you the experience of working on a busy construction site as well as studying on a day release basis to achieve a level 3 apprenticeship qualification. Capturing the knowledge and experience of a qualified craftsperson to understand the trade, your daily tasks will include, but not limited to installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical pipework services.

Main Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:

  • Work indoors and outdoors and be prepared to sometimes work at height.
  • Work with little or no supervision; relying on their own initiative.
  • Be prepared to travel away from home.
  • Develop good working relationships with people.
  • Read both building and engineering drawings.
  • Understand pipework installation drawings and schematics.
  • Select (within limits) materials and equipment.
  • Test and commission mechanical installations.
  • You will need to be able to cope with the physical demands of the role.
  • Health and safety conscious.
  • Capable of working in a team.
  • Good time keeping skills.
  • Strong motivation to work hard and to a high standard to succeed in this role.

The Apprenticeship will be assessor led and you will also attend Salford City College on a block release rota.

    Once you have completed the Craftsperson Level 3, there will be the opportunity to move up to supervisory (Dependent on role).
