Healthy Young Minds

Previously known as CAMHS, Healthy Young Minds is an NHS mental health service that offers a range of wellbeing support for young people in Bury, Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop.

Young Minds

Young Minds is a registered charity that works hard to boost the mental health of children and young people, wherever they live in the UK. Check out their site for advice and helplines relating to any mental or emotional problem you may be dealing with right now, from disorders, bullying or abuse to coronavirus.

#Thrive

#Thrive is an emotional health and wellbeing service for young people, aged up to 19 years, who live in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (or have a GP in those areas). You can walk straight into the #Thrive office at 48-50 Drake Street, Rochdale, OL16 1NT or call them on 0161 716 2844.

42nd Street

42nd Street exist to support you with your emotional wellbeing and mental health by offering a choice of effective, creative, young person-centred and rights-based approaches. They offer one to one support, group sessions and have a wealth of advice and resources on their website.

The Proud Trust

The Proud Trust is an LGBT+ organisation that supports LGBT+ young people through youth groups, peer support, mentoring programmes, and the Proud Connections chat service.

Kooth

Kooth is an online counselling and emotional wellbeing platform. It’s accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop and free at the point of use. On Kooth, you can chat to friendly counsellors via the web, read articles from other young people and get support from the online Kooth community via telephone, email and online.

Your health and wellbeing is about more than just your mental health. If you’d like to find gyms in Greater Manchester, we found 57 gyms where membership or access costs less than £50 a month. You could also check out Puregym, a chain of affordable gyms with 18 locations in Greater Manchester. If going to the gym is not an option for you, and you have a smart phone or PC/laptop, try looking online for free YouTube home exercise videos. You’ll find all kinds of tutorials to suit your level of fitness and activity.
