This T Level placement is as an administrative support to the Director of Customer and Growth at TfGM. The role will take responsibility for supporting high profile projects focused on TfGM’s customers and its growth strategy.

About the placement

This is a great opportunity to support our Customer & Growth Director through shadowing, co-ordinating team activities, and supporting the delivery of project work. The Director is responsible for all customer and growth activities, including ticketing, customer service, travel information, insight, digital customer channels such as the app and website, event management, marketing, and branding.

The placement will involve helping to analyse customer data, and shaping proposals and presentations for stakeholders, which could include local political figures. It provides the opportunity to help shape TfGM’s customer and growth proposition to the residents of Greater Manchester.

The placement will work with members of the Customer & Growth leadership team and help to bring their work together to share with the Customer & Growth Director.  We recommend this for students who can attend our City Centre on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday each week. TfGM offers hybrid working, and these are the days that most of the team are in the office to support the placement.

About the T Level – Management and Administration

During the 2-year programme, students will develop the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of management and administration occupations.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in a career in management and administration.

Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

  • business context – an overview of organisational cultures and values, different types of internal and external stakeholder, different forms of governance and the impact of organisations on society and the environment
  • project and change management – an understanding of the common change management theories and models and how to support and improve projects
  • business behaviours – the importance of good communication and adapting social communication styles to professional standards and according to purpose, medium and audience
  • quality and compliance – the importance of maintaining and improving quality in all aspects of public and private sector organisations
