Every day our Supply Chain team join the dots between our suppliers and our customers.
You will be part of the day-to-day Supply Chain team, working on Materials management (raw materials and supplies), Production flow through the plant, and Customer shipping!
You may spend time:
- in our stores area, helping to order materials used in manufacturing.
- in the warehouse assessing the safety of our associates.
- Helping to manage inventory within our process.
- Developing training material that we use for new associates.
- Looking for improvement opportunities to make us more efficient (e.g. digitising something manual).
Each day will probably look quite different!
By helping the team, you will be enabling them to become more efficient and to achieve more than they are currently able to.
If you do this well, you may make our associates jobs easier, or increase capacity.
At our manufacturing sites you will be working alongside real people, who make stuff! You need to be comfortable asking questions and listening to answers.
You will be successful if you like being part of a team.
By the time you finish your work at Milliken you will have a great understanding of how important the Supply Chain team are in the world of manufacturing, and you will have added real value.
You never know, you may want to come back!
Milliken will provide expenses for public transport and lunch. We don’t want anyone to be out of pocket!
For some T-Levels students there may also be opportunities for paid work, e.g. summer jobs.
