  • Level 1 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Practical Horticulture Skills
  • Level 2 Award/Certificate in Practical Horticulture Skills

What the programme covers:

  • Turf and lawn care and identifying weeds
  • Preparing for sowing or planting under supervision
  • Plant container grown subjects
  • Prepare soil and apply organic mulch
  • Water a bed, border or area of plants in containers
  • Determine soil phwith colour indicator test kit
  • Apply fertilisers by hand to bare ground
  • Aerate turf by hand
  • Scarification
  • Over mark sports lines
  • Repair area of damaged turf with seed
