Cisco Cyber Camps
Are you ready for free, online, self-paced exploratory courses that can put you on the path to a career in tech?
In partnership with The Open University, the Cisco Networking Academy Cyber Camps will provide free, remote, self-paced training for students in the UK, aged 13-19, who identify as female or non-binary. The courses will allow young women to learn industry-ready cybersecurity skills, while also engaging in forums hosted by experienced Cisco Networking Academy instructors, attending online webinars, and embarking on soft skills training.
From July 2023, and every four months thereafter, we are offering free, remote, supported courses that will train participants on industry-ready cybersecurity skills, taking you from beginner to cyber hero.
The courses vary in length and can be completed online at home, either on a laptop or smartphone. At each stage, you can step in and step out, allowing you to plan your studies depending around your other commitments.
Each course has a recognised digital badge which you can add to your professional profiles. If you pass all six courses, you will be awarded the internationally recognised Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity certification. All courses will improve your longer term professional prospects.
How does it work?
- Study together: The Cisco Cyber Camps will use online, secure groups moderated by DBS checked female cybersecurity experts. These inspirational women in cyber will also be presenting a range of weekly, online webinars.
- Flexible learning: The Cisco Cyber Camps will be delivered using hybrid learning, in close partnership with the Open University, experts in remote distance learning for over 50+ years.
- Timing: Each Cyber Camp will run for 12 weeks starting in July, October, January, and April. There is no pressure as participants can enrol in any Cyber Camp and leave one to join another later on, if other commitments arise.
Who can study?
The Cisco Cyber Camps are for students that identify as female or non-binary. Candidates must be aged 13-19 at the time of enrolment to participate in a Cisco Cyber Camp. You will have to register via Cisco, who age verifies everyone on their platform.
