We asked Vic Geary, a Career Consultant at Manchester University, what to expect if you're starting university in September. She has loads of reassuring advice here.
You can watch Vic's 2 minute video full of advice on what to expect from university this year.
Her main points are:
Every uni has been working really hard to make sure you have an amazing start to your time with them
A lot depends on the government guidelines at the time - BUT universities have been planning for every situation (face to face lectures, virtual or a bit of both)
If you're in halls of residence, they will be safe according to guidelines. Many students have been living in their halls throughout the pandemic.
You will receive a full welcome and induction.
You will still be able to choose and join societies and make loads of friends.
The universities want to keep you updated so follow them on social media, check their websites and check you email for messages.
Finally, Vic says enjoy your summer and she, like everyone working at universities everywhere, looks forward to welcoming you!
