National Careers Week will host a series of exciting sessions to inspire young people about the different industries, roles and careers within GM and how they link to the subjects they are studying!

About National Careers Week: 1st - 5th March 2021

As part of GMCA, Meet Your Future will be offering a series of events to enable meaningful virtual encounters that will highlight careers related to curriculum learning. Throughout the week young people will also have an opportunity to meet with and ask questions to a range of organisations across Greater Manchester.

Monday 1st March

09.00 - 09.15: Good Morning Greater Manchester with (TBC) - A motivational session aimed at school form time/first period with a different guest speaker each day.

11.00 - 11.45: Careers in Technology – Q&A with Koder.ly - Hear about the latest career opportunities from a Manchester-based software and services company with 20 years’ experience in providing cutting edge, enterprise technology solutions.

12.00 - 12.45: Manufacturing in the Defence Industry - This session will give an insight into the different products (missile systems) that MBDA make, how we manufacture our missiles and how the company works.

13.00 - 13.45: Learn about Urban Architecture - Want to know more about design, architecture and urban planning? In this session Caleb Jones and Andy Roberts from Plan-it.ie will show you how careers in design can be much more than you think.

Tuesday 2nd March

09.00 - 09.15: Good Morning Greater Manchester with (TBC) - A motivational session aimed at school form time/first period with a different guest speaker each day.

10.00 - 10.45: Careers in Engineering - Join Ceri Travers, the Learning and Development Manager at William Hare to find out more about our business, what we do and the engineering apprenticeships that we have to offer..

13.00 - 13.45: Careers using Science - Join SUEZ in this session and find out what it means to contribute to shaping a sustainable environment, innovate, open up to the richness of cooperation and give your career dynamic prospects to achieve both professional and personal fulfilment..

Wednesday 3rd March

09.00 - 09.15: Good Morning Greater Manchester with Sasha Lord - A motivational session aimed at school form time/first period with a different guest speaker each day. Sacha Lord is a co-creator of Parklife festival and The Warehouse Project, as well as the Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester. Join Sacha as he speaks about the decisions he made when leaving school and his journey through his career.

11.00 - 11.45: OpenMoney - Hear from Hannah Cole at OpenMoney about developing new tech to help people manage their money and get financial advice – covering software development, customer service and the finance sector..

13.00 - 13.45: Live Q&A with The Royal Air Force (RAF) - The RAF will give you opportunities that you won’t find in any other career. Thursday 4th March
